As I wave goodbye, a little sadly, to the little bubble of dreams that is the Chelsea Flower Show for another year, it’s time to hand over the stage to the real stars: the wonderful, wonderful plants here in their thousands to amaze and enchant. Enjoy.

Oh, I really like the look of Magnolia x wieseneri
The Cotyledon orbiculata I have twice, green shiny and grey bloomed.
Also a few inches of Protea cynaroides – will be YEARS before that flowers.
Hi Frogend, yes that one really caught my eye too, it’s like no other Magnolia I’ve ever seen that’s for sure!
Hi Diana, that Cotyledon was such an extraordinary plant, like a ghost. Quite something to have it in your own garden. And proteas… yeah well, I’m envious that you can even consider growing one, however tiny, you lucky lucky thing! Such wonderful plants, but strictly for the tropically heated greenhouse in the UK…
